On the 75th anniversary of Syria’s Evacuation Day the Syrian communities in Hungary and Cuba renew their support for their country
The “For the Sake of Syria” forum in Hungary affirmed that the Syrian people managed through their national unity to achieve the great evacuation of the French colonialist forces, stressing that with this unity, the Syrian people can today confront all the conspiracies that target Syria and its sovereignty and independence.
President of the forum, Dr. Tariq Mayaleh, said in a statement on the seventy-fifth anniversary of the evacuation of the French colonialist from Syria that “since the achievement of independence in 1946, our Syrian people have been struggling to consolidate national independence and protect the freedom of the homeland and its independent decision. They are still waging many battles against colonial conspiracies aimed at making Syria the target of the imperialist alliances and Zionist schemes. Our people also supported just Arab causes, especially the Palestinian cause, because of which Syria was exposed to blatant attacks by the Zionist entity, which is supported by the United States.”
The statement pointed out that Syria has been able to confront the American-Israeli-Ottoman plot that has been targeting it and it managed to achieve remarkable victories against the tools of this scheme, yet it continued to be attacked in various forms through imposing sieges and unilateral coercive measures.
The statement praised the role of the Syrian army in preserving the security and unity of Syria, thanking Russia, China, Iran, countries of the BRICS group, the Lebanese national resistance and the Iraqi national forces for supporting Syria in its war against terrorism.
Meanwhile, members of the Syrian community and students in Cuba stressed in a statement marking Syria’s Evacuation day their support to their homeland in its war against terrorism and all the conspiracies that target its unity.
They affirmed that the seventeenth of April, 1946 was a new birth and created new future for Syria thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs who defeated the French occupier to achieve independence.
The statement added that the Syrian people commemorate the blessed Evacuation Day this year while they are more determined to continue their steadfastness in confrontation of the new military and economic plots weaved by the enemies of Syria against all segments of the Syrian people to undermine the country, its sovereignty and its independent decision.
The statement stressed that throughout their history, the Syrian people have not accepted defeat, and their legendary steadfastness thwarted all hostile plans and plots targeting their sovereignty and dignity.
