On Martyrs Day: Defense Minister visits Army Units in Southern Region

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Under President Bashar Al-Assad’s directives, Defense Minister Gen. Fahed Jassem al-Freij visited one of the Syrian Arab Army’s formation in the country’s southern area on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day. He inspected the units’ situation and their preparedness as to confront the terrorist organizations.

 The minister, who was accompanied by a number of officers at the General Command, met the soldiers and conveyed to them President Al-Assad’s greetings.

“The achievements made by the Syrian Arab Army are the results of the soldiers’ sacrifices and heroic acts in the face of the takfiri terrorism which targets the homeland’s potentials and the Syrians’ future,” Gen. al-Freij said.

“The blood of the martyrs who sacrificed themselves in defense of the homeland will continue to be our guide to carry on the fight against the terrorist aggression targeting Syria till victory is achieved,” he added.
