On March Revolution Anniversary: Gen. Freij visited several Army Combat Units

DAMASCUS, (ST) _ Under the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, and on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of March 8th revolution, deputy commanding general of the army and the armed forces and defense minister Gen. Fahd al-Freij, accompanied by several army field officers yesterday visited several army combat units in the southern region, where they met fighters in their positions and conveyed to them the President love and greetings on the occasion.

Gen. Freij was briefed during his tour on the measures and actions taken by military units and check points in challenging terrorist gangs and in protecting its citizens from criminal acts.

Gen. Freij stressed to the fighters pride of the Syrian people and military leadership over their sacrifice and heroism in addressing the terrorist aggression against the country, praising the fighting spirit and high morale they enjoy and the victories they achieve on the ground.

He indicated that the Zionist enemy will not succeed in achieving malicious goals in coordination with terrorist gangs that suffer heaviest losses, as a result of the successive blows they received at the hands of the men of our brave armed forces, who will continue their combat operations in the southern region and all areas where terrorism exist.

He gave his directives for implementing sacred national duties to root out terrorism and restore security and stability to every inch of the country.

Meantime, Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayyoub Chief of Staff of the army and the armed forces, accompanied by several army commanding officers visited the army troops operating in Jazal oil field, in the eastern part of rural Homs and conveyed to them greeting and love of President al-Assad and his pride for their determination and persistence to achieve victory over Takfiri and criminal gangs

Gen. Ayub was briefed on the readiness of our armed forces operating in the area and listened to a detailed explanation on implemented operation, stressing that the army achievements are the result of the sacrifices made by the army brave men against terrorism which targets Syria’s economy and potentials.

Meanwhile, the country’s armed forces celebrated the glorious occasion and army leaders spoke about the sublime meanings and implications of the great revolution, pointing out that this anniversary comes today while the country is exposed to terrorist aggression led by old – new colonial states in an attempt to weaken Syria, in order to serve Zionist interests, stressing that the Syrian people, who triumphed in March 8 revolution, against backwardness, will win today against terrorism and its tools and supporters.

Military and sports exercises were shown in military barracks, and the military theater held a tour on several units, during which theater and artistic performances highlighting the occasion were also shown.
