Damascus (ST): (Solidarity between generations.. Creating a world for all ages) A sentence entitled International Youth Day for 2022 to instill a message to all peoples that promoting intergenerational work is what achieves the goals of sustainable development.
The International Youth Day, which falls on the 12th of August, is an opportunity to highlight the successes of the youth group, their initiatives and their work in various fields, to emphasize that empowering young people contributes to a real development industry and a better future.
In Syria, despite the difficult circumstances imposed by the terrorist war, the Syrian youth proved their distinction over the years. The role of the youth was not limited to a specific field, but rather intersected with all voluntary, health, cultural, sports, development, educational and other fields.
One of the areas in which Syrian youth have succeeded is voluntary work, especially during the war years. The young man, Najib Bakri, who has a Master’s degree in media, explains that in 2012 he succeeded in establishing the “Syriana” voluntary team, which carried out a number of blood donation campaigns, in addition to launching the “Our Generation” development project to support families in need after the repercussions and conditions imposed by the war, considering that a small part of the youth’s duty towards their society.
