On Independence Day, People’s Assembly Vows Continuous Work as to Preserve Syria’s Sovereignty, Unity

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The People’s Assembly (parliament) has renewed call on the Syrian people as to stay united in the confrontation of the most heinous terrorist war for which colonialist countries, known of their aggressive history, with the help of their tools in the region have dedicated billions of US dollars as well as thousands of mercenaries and takfiri terrorists as to undermine  the Syrian state, destroy its abilities and kill its people.

In a statement on Sunday marking the 70th Anniversary of Independence Day, the PA members vowed to keep working as to preserve Syria’s unity and sovereignty and back the Syrian army’s anti- terror efforts to restore security and stability to the homeland. They stressed their keenness on liberating the Syrian Golan from the Zionist occupiers.

The statement said that the anniversary of Independence Day, the day when the French colonialists were evacuated from Syria, comes as the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army are achieving great victories over takfiri terrorists and mercenaries in different parts of the country.

“It is Syria’s fate to be the spearhead in defense of the future of the region’s countries by confronting the takfiri terrorism, the colonialist tool to fragment the Arab countries and dominate their potentials,” the statement added.
