On an official visit to New Delhi, Miqdad meets the Vice President of India and discusses the latest developments

New Delhi (ST): Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dankhar discussed with Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal Miqdad the latest developments in the region and the historical relations between Syria and India, expressing the two countries’ desire to strengthen and develop them. During the meeting, Dankhar asked to convey the greetings of his country and the Indian leadership to President Bashar al-Assad, stressing their adherence to the historical relations that bring them together with Syria, and their wishes for the Syrian people’s recovery and prosperity.

Dankhar stressed that India has maintained its position in support of Syria in the most difficult times, describing the steadfastness of this position as “a testament to the times.”

Dankhar referred to the development of the Indian economic experience, focusing on the success achieved by India in the field of technology, and expressing readiness to cooperate with Syria in these fields.

For his part, Minister Al-Miqdad stressed the importance of communication and mutual coordination in the positions of concern to the two countries, and the strengthening of the historical ties between them, underlining the importance and increase of the Indian presence in regional and international forums.

Miqdad expressed Syria’s welcome to India’s role in the reconstruction of what was destroyed by terrorism, considering that the increase in the number of Syrian competencies that studied in India and gained from the Indian experience will have an effective role in the reconstruction.
