Omani Foreign Minister: Washington’s failure of a draft resolution to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip is a shameful insult to humanitarian norms
Muscat, (ST) – The Sultanate of Oman on Saturday expressed its regret over the US administration’s use of its veto power in the Security Council over the draft resolution. It called for a ceasefire and for saving the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The United States used its veto despite the warnings issued by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and international humanitarian institutions regarding the poor living conditions of the Palestinian people, as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip since the 7th of last October.
The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to make all political, diplomatic and legal efforts to stop the Israeli aggression and hold it accountable for the war crimes it is committing in the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry stressed the need to lift the siege on Gaza, provide all the urgent relief the Palestinian people need, support their steadfastness on their land, and provide them with the necessary protection.
