Oman Writer: Unfair Sanctions Against Syria Reflect the image of Western Brutality

Muscat (ST) – The Omani writer Khamis Al-Toubi affirmed that the unfair economical sanctions against Syria reflect the image of the West’s savagery in its ugliest forms. He explained that the world, no matter how civilized and scientifically advanced it is, is still governed by the law of the jungle with its motto ‘Survival of the Fittest’.

Al-Toubi said in an article published in the Omani newspaper “Al-Watan”: “The Western position, led by the Americans, did not surprise us with regard of the humanitarian catastrophe that befell the Syrian people.

“The catastrophe has worsened due to the  hard weather conditions and the laws of the jungle, foremost of which is the “Caesar Act” that put pressur on the Syrians under the false pretext that it aims at protecting the Syrian people, and thus, Syria has been caught between two earthquakes, the earthquake of nature and the earthquake of the unjust economic blockade,” the writer clarified.

Al-Toubi added: “The unfair economic sanctions are intended to be the other jaw of terrorism that aims to overthrow the Syrian government, destroy Syria, and remove it from all Arab, regional, and international equations”.

He stressed that the United States does not need to bother justifying its policies towards the countries of the world and their peoples when it comes to its interest and the interest of its strategic ally, the military base called “Israel.”

Al-Toubi explained that America is looting the wealth of Syria including oil, gas, and grain, and at the same time imposing the most sever unjust sanctions on it. Despite all that, there are those who are still absent from the truth and isolated from reality who point fingers not at the real criminal, which makes Washington in a comfortable situation that encourages it to commit more looting crimes and practice colonialist policies.
