Oman affirms the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

MUSCAT, Oct.18, (ST)-Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of Oman, has asserted his country’s firm stances towards Syria, affirming the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

While accepting the credentials of Idris Ahmed Maya as the new ambassador of Syria to the Sultanate of Oman, the Omani Sultan asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings to President Bashar Al-Assad, and his best wishes to the brotherly Syrian people.

For his part, Maya stressed that the Omani leadership and people enjoy great prestige among the Syrian people, who highly appreciate Muscat’s principled stances towards Syria since the beginning of the terrorist war that was imposed on it, more than 11 years ago.

The ambassador also conveyed the greetings of President Al-Assad to His Majesty Sultan Haitham, and his wishes to the brotherly Omani people for achieving more progress and prosperity.
