DAMASCUS, (ST)- The media arms of the so-called “Jaish al-Islam” terror group are newly circulating fake reports about the use of chemical weapons in the terrorist-held city of Douma in order to blame the Syrian army for the act, an official source said on Saturday, stressing that such allegations are a failed attempt to hinder the progress of the Syrian army in its bid to liberate Douma from terrorists.
The terrorists of “Jaish al-Islam” in Douma, their last stronghold in Eastern Ghouta, are living a state of collapse and defeat under the strikes of the Syrian Arab army, the source said.
Some media outlets, known of their support for the terrorists, claimed that the Syrian army had used chemical weapons in the city of Douma during its military operation which the army carried out in retaliation against the terrorist attacks launched by the “Jaish al-Islam” terror group against civilians in several neighborhoods in Damascus and its surrounding.
The official source added that the Syrian army is progressing fast with strong determination to uproot terrorism and it is not in need to use any kind of chemical materials as claimed by some terrorism-affiliated media channels.
“Chemical claims and fabrications haven’t succeeded neither in Aleppo nor in eastern Ghouta towns and they won’t benefit the terrorists and their sponsors today as the Syrian state is determined to eliminate terrorism in every inch of the Syrian territory.
