‘Occupied Golan’ to be next battlefront, says al-Lahham

DAMASCUS,(ST)-Speaker of the People’s Assembly [Parliament] has reiterated that Syria will spare no effort to recover the Israeli-occupied Golan, adding that Syrian Arab army redraws the forthcoming battle lines.

Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham’s remarks carried by the official news agencies (SANA) were made during today’s parliament session that marked the 33rd anniversary of the open strike staged by the Syrian Arab citizens in the occupied Golan.

The open strike aimed at stressing the Golan people’s adherence to homeland’s identity and rejecting the Zionist authorities’ suppressive policies against them.

Al-Lahham hailed the occupied Golan people’s stance, affirming that Syria will never abandon the Golan and it will spare no effort to recover it.

“Today, we mark the firm stance of our people in the occupied Golan and their steadfastness in confronting the Zionist entity’s war machine and its desperate attempts to change the demography of the Golan through settlement,”  the Speaker said.

He indicated the Syrian Arab army’s successive victories in the southern region over terrorist organizations that receive all forms of support from Israel and western countries.

“The Zionist occupation authorities [Israel’s authorities] rely on the terrorist organizations in the southern region to create security belt,” al-Lahham clarified, adding that Israel’s dreams dashed after Syrian army defeated terrorists in the southern region.

Forthcoming battle lines

“Syrian army redraws the forthcoming battle lines in which the occupied Golan will be a battlefront,” the Speaker stressed.

He underscored that the liberation war has started and it will not stop till the recovery of the occupied Golan and hoisting the Syrian flag over it whatever the sacrifices.

“There is no alternative to resistance in order to liberate occupied lands…We will defeat terrorism and its supporters, including the Israeli occupation entity which is the other face of terrorism being practiced by the ISIS and al-Nusra Front,” al-Lahham said.
