Israeli occupation suppresses anti-settlement protest in Al-Khalil, West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces on Saturday suppressed an anti-settlement demonstration in Masafer Yatta town, south of the West Bank city of Al-Khlail.

Palestinian media outlets reported that the demonstration was organized in protest against the Israeli occupation’s act of seizing wide areas of Palestinian land in the town to expand settlement building activities and in rejection of the Israeli settlers’ daily attacks on the Palestinians with the aim of displacing them from their lands.

The protesters were carrying the Palestinian flag and chanting slogans condemning the occupation and its ethnic cleansing policy towards the Palestinians.

Daily attacks by the Israeli forces and settlers on Palestinian towns and villages threaten 3000 Palestinians of displacement from Masafer yatta, which contains 19 villages and extends over an area of about 38,500 dunams.
