The Israeli occupation plans to bring in Ukrainian Jews to the occupied Palestinian territories in order to increase the number of Jewish settlers in an attempt to judiaze and change the demographic situation of the occupied Palestinian lands, according to the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s (PLO) National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements.
In its weekly report, published on Saturday, the bureau said that the occupation continues to step up settlement building operations in occupied Al-Quds.
According to the report, the occupation authorities started building 1000 new settlement units on Palestinians’ lands in Al-Naqab and Wadi Al-Yanabee’ areas in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 as well as in different West Bank areas. The new Israeli move comes within the framework of a plan to bring in around 200,000 Ukrainian Jews and settle them in these areas.
Over the past week, the occupation seized and razed areas of land in the Friday Market, the Martyrs’ Monument and the Yusufiya cemetery, south of Al-Quds old city. It also demolished 11 commercial facilities and three houses in the towns of Hazma, Beiit Hanina and Jabal Al-Mukaber and seized 4 dunums in Sour Baher town in Al-Quds, the report said.
It added that the occupation forces also demolished an agricultural facility in the village of Kardaleh in the Northern Jordan valley, razed a road in the vicinity of Sebastia town that leads to Baraqa town in Nablus and delivered demolition notices to several houses in Masafer Yata in Al-Khalil city and in the northern Jordan valley.
The Israeli settlers, the report went on to say, escalated their crimes against the Palestinians in the West Bank, mainly in Al-Quds.
Protected by the occupation forces, the settlers intensified their raids on the towns of Silwan and Al-Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and attacked the Palestinians and their properties there, the report clarified. It added that the settlers also seized swathes of land in Ein Al-Hilweh in the Northern Jordan valley to establish a settlement outpost. They also razed lands in Terqumia, west of Nablus, to establish a settlement road.
According to the report, a number of settlers stormed into the towns of Al-Labban Al-Sharqiyeh and Aseera Al-Qibliyeh in Nablus and fired gas canisters, causing injuries and suffocation to tens of Palestinians. The settlers also stormed into Al-Khalil old city amid heavy shooting that led to the injury of 4 Palestinians, including three children.
A group of settlers, the report explained, also prevented Palestinian farmers and shepherds from reaching their lands in the towns of Yatta and Khirbet Zenouna, south of Al-Khalil and stormed into Sebastia and Al-Mas’oudiya archeological areas in Nablus.
45 olive plants were uprooted by settlers in Yasuf town in Salfit, the report said, pointing out that another group of settlers closed the roads connecting between the Palestinian cities and towns, prevented the Palestinians from passing in these roads and attacked their cars.
