Occupation forces attack a demonstration in Al-Quds

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – 11 Palestinians were injured yesterday when the Israeli occupation forces attacked a demonstration north of occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem), condemninig  the continuous crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian people and demanding the release of the bodies of the martyrs which are still being held by the occupation authorities.

Several other cities in the occupied West Bank also winessed demonstartions in the same context.

Wafa News Agency stated that the occupation forces attacked with bullets and poison gas bombs a demonstration that started from the entrance of the Al-Am’ari camp in Al-Bireh and headed to the vicinity of the Qalandia military checkpoint, north of  Al-Quds (Jerusalem), demanding the recovery of the bodies of the detained martyrs. The attack resulted in the injury of 11 Palestinians, WAFA added.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said that a young man, who was shot in one of his legs, and the other 10 people, who suffered from suffocation due to poison gas bombs, received urgent medical treatment..

Hundreds  of Palestinians also participated in a stand at Ibn Rushd Roundabout in the center of Al-Khalil, organized by the Commission for Palestinian prisoners and Ex- prisoners Affairs, the Prisoners’ Club, and the Prisoners’ Families Committee, with the participation of a number of institutions and prisoners’ families.

The participants affirmed the continuation of the stands until the bodies of the martyrs, which are being held by the occupation in complete disregard for international law and human rights, are released.

During the weekly stand  in front of the Red Cross office in Tulkarem, the families of the prisoners called on all international human rights and humanitarian institutions and the Red Cross to intervene urgently and put pressure on the occupation authorities to hand over the bodies of the 10 prisoner martyrs from the Captives Movement, the last of which was the body of the martyr Nasser Abu Hamid.

At Al-Mahd Square in the center of Bethlehem, dozens of Palestinians participated in a stand calling for the recovery of the bodies of the martyre prisoners and the release of the detainees, especially women, patients and children, stressing the need to implement the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions which recognize prisoners’ rights.

It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities are holding the bodies of more than 357 Palestinian martyrs, most of whom are from the West Bank, including 55 bodies of martyrs from the Gaza Strip and 10 bodies of martyrs who were killed in the occupation detention centers, the last of which was the body of the martyr Abu Hamid.
