Israeli occupation escalates Judaization in Al-Quds: Report

Within the framework of its Judaization scheme in occupied Al-Quds, the Israeli occupation has escalated its practices to judaize Al-Buraq wall, the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque, with the aim of changing its historical features.

The occupation has been trying to evict the Palestinians from occupied Al-Quds by demolishing their houses and displacing them in order to build settlement units to reside the Israeli settlers instead.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization’s National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements said in its weekly report published on Saturday that the occupation authorities announced a plan to open entrances and exists in Al-Buraq wall dedicated only for the Israeli settlers, so that the number of the settlers daily storming into the mosque increases.

 According to the report, these aggressive acts coincide with a displacement campaign launched by the occupation against the Palestinians in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Al-Skeikh Jarrah neighborhood, east of Al-Quds old city.  

The report clarified that last Wednesday, the occupation forces demolished two houses for Salhia family in the Al-Skeikh Jarrah neighborhood and on Friday, the Israeli forces alongside a number of settlers stormed into the house of  Salem family and built a fence around it in a flagrant violation of the international law, and in clear disregard for the call of the United Nations envoy to the Middle East Tor Wennesland to abide by the rules of international law and stop the displacement of the Palestinians.

The report pointed out that the occupation forces compelled two families in Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood and in the town of Beit Hanina in Al-Quds to demolish their own houses. They also handed eviction notices to three shops in the town of Jabal Al-Mukaber and demolished a house in Sha’fat camp in Al-Quds.

The occupation also continues to put more pressure on the Palestinians in most of the West Bank areas.

According to the report, the occupation forces demolished a house in the town of Al-Ramadin, south of Al-Khalil city, and an agricultural facility in the town of Hares in Salfit and handed a demolition notice to a commercial facility in the town of Hawara in Nablus and a school in the town of Kafar Malik in Ramallah. The occupation forces also seized 5 dunums planted with olives in the town of Kafr AL-Deek in Salfit and razed swathes of land planted with wheat and vegetables in Khirbet Ibziq in the northern Jordan Valley.

Moreover, the report said, the Israeli settlers stormed into several areas in the cities of Al-Quds, Al-Khalil and Nablus where they attacked the Palestinians and their properties. They also uprooted 300 olive plants in Deir Sharaf town in Nablus and 30 other olive plants in Masafer Yatta town in Al-Khalil. The settlers also cut down 90 olive trees in Yasouf town and seized 4 dunums of Palestinian land in the town of Kafr Al-Deek in Salfit. They also closed major intersections in the West Bank and attacked the Palestinians and limited their movement in this area.
