Occupation entity’s threat to launch a ground aggression against Rafah will lead to a humanitarian catastrophe, says Kanaani

Tehran, (ST) –  Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani affirmed that the Zionist entity’s threat to launch a ground aggression against Rafah would cause a humanitarian catastrophe and another war crime against the defenseless Palestinian people.

Kanaani said in a statement yesterday: “Such an intention and measure, not only contradicts and disrupts the current negotiations on ceasefire, it also contradicts the decision issued by the International Court of Justice in the case against Israel. It is an example of the malicious intentions by the Zionists to repeatedly violate all international legal norms,” pointing out that there are more than one million Palestinian refugees in Rafah who are at risk.

Kanaani also expressed his concern about the continuation of the crime of genocide committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinians. He said that if America and other Western allies of the Zionists were sincere in expressing their concerns about the security and stability of the region, then they should immediately take the initiative to stop this insane behavior of the Zionist entity’s officials in killing the defenseless Palestinian people. .

Kanaani drew the attention of international forums, governments, and world public opinion to the worrying consequences of any aggression carried out by the Zionist entity in Rafah on the conditions of the population and displaced people in this region.

He stressed the responsibility of international organizations and civil society organizations, led by the United Nations, to prevent the continuation of the Zionist aggression against Gaza Strip, and to prevent the aggravation of the humanitarian catastrophe.
