Israel continues to tighten the noose on the Palestinians in occupied Al-Quds

The Israeli occupation continues to tighten the noose on the Palestinians in occupied Al-Quds city by closing tens of streets and intensifying military checkpoints to facilitate the settlers’ raids and build more settlement units.

In its weekly report, published on Saturday, the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s (PLO) National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements, said that the occupation authorities have announced a plan to establish 149 settlement units in Al-Thawri neighborhood in Al-Quds in addition to 1200 settlement units in the village of Sattaf, west of the city.

The occupation forces continued throughout last week to provide protection to Jewish settlers storing into Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as the neighborhood of Al-Sheikh Harrah and other parts of the Al-Quds, the report added.

Also last week, the report went on to say, the occupation forces demolished four houses and delivered notifications on demolishing two agricultural facilities in the Northern Valley in the West Bank. They also razed and closed agricultural roads in Qasra town in Nablus which prevented the farmers from reaching their lands to cultivate them.

According to the report, the Israeli settlers attacked the villages of Mikhmas in Al-Quds and Al-Magheer in Ramallah and attacked the Palestinians’ houses and properties. They also razed 3 dunums of agricultural land in Masafer Yatta town, south of Al-Khalil city, as well as swathes of land in Kafr Al-Deek town in Salfit.

The settlers, the report pointed out, uprooted 80 fruit trees and started building a settlement outpost in the town of Beit Jala in Bethlehem. They also burned a mosque in Zeta Jma’een village, south of Nablus, stormed Al-Mas’oudiya and Sebastia areas and carried out digging works under the archeological site of Khan Al-Laban in Al-Laban Al-Sharqiya archeological area, south of Nablus, which may lead to the collapse of the site.

The report pointed out that in his report presented during the Human Rights Council session on Friday, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories Michael Lynk documented the grave human rights violations being committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians as well as the apartheid system adopted by the occupation in implementing its Judaization schemes. He called for adopting a list of accountability measures to put an end to the occupation and its racist practices in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The report reiterated that the international community and the International Criminal Court should take into consideration the occupation’s apartheid crime and make a decisive and courageous decision to adopt these successive UN reports and force the occupation to stop its crimes and implement the international legitimacy resolutions that guarantee the end of the occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the line of June 4, 1967.
