Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The death toll from the continuous Israeli aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp in the West Bank rose to 10. 100 people were also injured and thousands of Palestinians have been displaced from their homes as a result of the aggression.
Meantime, the Palestinian resistance continues to confront the aggression of the occupation forces.
Wafa News Agency quoted the Palestinian Ministry of Health as saying: The death toll rose to 10, after the body of a martyr was found this morning, in addition to about 100 wounded, including 20 in serious condition.
The occupation forces arrested 120 Palestinians from the camp, and last night forced 500 families to evacuate their homes by threatening to bomb and target them, and turned a number of houses on the outskirts of the camp into military barracks, and deployed snipers on their roofs. The Palestinian Red Crescent announced the evacuation of about 3,000 people from the camp, in when the occupation targeted them with tear gas while they were leaving.
The occupation siege of the camp continues amid power and water cuts, as a result of the massive deliberate destruction of the infrastructure by bulldozing streets, uprooting electricity poles, and jamming communication lines. The occupation warplanes continue to bomb Palestinian homes in the camp in conjunction with pushing more military reinforcements for its forces to its entrances, backed by military bulldozers, to penetrate its streets and alleys.
The Palestinian resistance factions continue to confront the occupation forces, which are trying to penetrate the camp, amid the implementation of ambushes and the detonation of explosive devices in its military vehicles on more than one axis, which led, since yesterday, to the injury and death of a number of its forces.
The Jenin Brigade of the Islamic Jihad Movement said in a statement: On the second day of the battle, we are engaged in separate clashes on the axes and outskirts of the camp, and we have thwarted a number of incursions attempts despite the continuous aerial bombardment of some areas.
Supporting for the city of Jenin and its camp the comprehensive strike, a general strike is observed today in the West Bank, including occupied East Al-Quds (Jerusalem), in protest against the Israeli occupation army incursion into the northern West Bank city of Jenin and the killing of 10 people since yesterday.
Shops were shuttered and life came to a standstill in most areas of the West Bank as calls were made for people to take part in protests and demonstrations in support of Jenin and to confront soldiers at contact points.
Last night and early this morning, confrontations were reported with soldiers in several areas of the West Bank.
