Israeli occupation attacks Palestinian farmers, fishermen in besieged Gaza Strip

Palestinian farmers cultivating their lands east of Khan Yunis city, south of the besieged Gaza Strip, were attacked with teargas today by the Israeli occupation forces, which forced them to leave their lands, according to WAFA News Agency.

The agency said that Israeli forces stationed east of Khan Yunis fired tear gas canisters at the farmers while working in their lands in Al-Sanati area, east of Abasan town in Khan Yunis, forcing them to leave their lands.

The Israeli occupation continues to prevent the Palestinians from cultivating their agricultural lands to support their livlihood, depriving them from their crops amid a suffocating blockade.

Israeli navy attacks fishermen off Rafah

Moreover, the Israeli occupation naval forces attacked Palestinian fishermen while they were sailing off the southern shores of the Gaza Strip, forcing them to return to the shore.

According to WAFA, the Israeli navy fired live bullets and teargas towards fishermen sailing off the city of Rafah, forcing them to stop fishing and return to the shore.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The Israeli naval forces and their gunboats have long been harassing fishermen in Gaza, shooting at them, damaging their boats and making arrests. Scores of fishermen have been injured or even killed during gunfire attacks by the Israeli navy.

The Gaza Strip has been under tight Israeli siege since 2007.
