Israeli occupation announces plan to establish 1257 settlements in occupied Jerusalem

Today, the Israeli occupation authorities announced a new settlement plan to establish 1,257 settlement units in occupied Jerusalem.

Ma’an News Agency stated that the new plan aims at expanding  the settlement established on Palestinian lands in the village of Beit Safafa, south of occupied Jerusalem, noting that it threatens to cut off the geographical connection between occupied East Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Within the framework of its Judaizing and aggressive plans to displace Palestinians, the occupation authorities are escalating settlement operations in the West Bank, especially in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

Two days ago, they announced a settlement plan to establish 108 settlement units in the Shuafat camp north of occupied Jerusalem, thus ignoring international resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016, which emphasizes the illegality of the settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories and demands an immediate cessation of it.
