On December 12th, the General Secretariat of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) held its 109th meeting in Kuwait, chaired by the Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Eng. Bassam Tohme.
The oil and energy ministers of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Libya, Iraq, Egypt, and deputy ministers in the UAE, Algeria and Bahrain participated in the meeting.
Secretary-General of the organization Ali Bin Sabt said: “The meeting discussed a number of issues, including the draft estimated budget of the organization for the year 2023.”
The meeting reviewed the report on the preparations for the Arab Energy Conference which will be held in Qatar next year.
At the end of the meeting, the Iraqi Oil Minister was elected as president of the organization’s Council of Ministers in its new session for the year 2023, and then the ministers met with Kuwaiti Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
