NUSS holds “Think for Syria” youth dialogue to reactivate Syrian youth role in society

Under the slogan “Think for Syria”, the National Union of Syrian Students (NUSS) on Monday held youth dialogue sessions at all the Syrian government universities with the participation of more than 500 students.

Participants in the 2-day sessions discussed topics focusing on the importance of dialogue in enhancing diversity, on boosting citizenship and youth participation, on the role of youth in local development, on means of creating non-traditional income-generating opportunities, on reactivating the role of culture in change, on building individuals and society and on youth’s vision to develop the higher education system.

They affirmed the importance of this dialogue to invest in youth abilities in the service of society, figure out their needs, get acquainted with their problems, facilitate their access to the job market and limit youth migration.

A number of projects covering the sectors of technology, industry, agriculture and services were presented by the university students.

Some students said that these sessions provide an opportunity for the students to talk about their ideas that positively affect society, stressing the need to support higher education and digital transformation and to benefit from the youth abilities in the development of local communities, thereby enhancing development in the entire country.

They also affirmed the importance of encouraging investment projects that ensure job opportunities for graduates and adopting the research works made by the higher education students.
