The National Union of Syrian Students (NUSS) has held a photography exhibition at Damascus University on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Syrian Arab army’s foundation.

The exhibition opened yesterday includes 400 photos documenting popular celebrations held after the Syrian Arab army’s victories over terrorist organizations in the country, the history of the Syrian army and local reports about the national army, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency reported that a documentary film on the Syrian Arab army’s history since its foundation till today was screened in the opening ceremony of the five-day exhibition.

It quoted Deputy Director of the Political Administration in the Army and Armed Forces Major General Ali Khadra as saying that marking the Syria army’s Day is a national ceremony reflects the historical role of this military institute in rejecting aggression and meeting the Syrian people’s aspirations.

On his part, Member of the NUSS’s Executive Bureau Omar al-Jbaee told SANA reporter that Syrian students stand by the Syrian Arab army in defending the homeland.
