JAKARTA, March. 15, (ST)-The leader of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), which is an Islamic organization in Indonesia, Yahya Staquf has affirmed that Syria has fought terrorism on behalf of the world as terrorism has no borders.
Staquf’s remarks came during his meeting with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Jakarta Abdulmen’em Annan.
He asked the Syrian diplomat to convey his greetings to President Bashar Al-Assad, asserting that the terror war on Syria arouses the feeling of sadness in Indonesia.
“Syria fights extremist terrorist organizations – ISIS, Al-Nusra Front and other ones- that pose a threat not only to Syria but also to the region and the whole world including Indonesia,” Staquf said.
He added that the implementation of Islamic instructions manifests itself in the love of homeland.
For his part, Annan talked about the recent developments in Syria, referring to the continuity of the western support for terrorist organizations and the occupation of parts of Syrian territories by the US and Turkish forces.
He underlined the fact that the Syrian government attaches great importance to the Indonesian students, who are studying in Syria.
