Nobody can prevent President Al-Assad from running again, says Mikdad

DAMASCUS(ST)_ Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayisal Mikdad said that nobody can prevent President Bashar Al-Assad for re-election next year.

“the ballot boxes will decide who will lead Syria…..President Al-Assad enjoys a big majority of the Syrians while France’s president Francois Hollande has only 15 percent support of the French people,”Mikdad told AFP.

“Preserving Syria’s integrity is of vital point for us. The Geneva 2 conference top agenda should be counter-terrorism and other points are open to be debated by the Syrians, “underscored Mikdad.

Mikdad made it clear that as Syria is faultlessly prepared to take part in the conference, the delegation’s names will be announced soon.

The Deputy Foreign Minister called on the international community to put Saudi regime on the list of the countries that support and sponsor terrorism.

” actually , those who have supported terrorist groups in Syria are feeling now that they have committed big mistakes..The only country that still declares its full support for terrorist groups and al-Qaeda is Saudi Arabia. So, if the world wants to avoid a new September 11, it should say enough to this country and put it on the list of the countries that support terrorism, underlined Mikdad.

Regarding Iran’s participation in the proposed Geneva 2 conference on Syria, Mikdad commented: “It is regrettable that France and the USA emphasize the non-participation of Iran, while Saudi Arabia, which destroys Syria will be present,”
