No Power in the World Can Undermine the Great Syrian State: Al-Zou’bi

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Syria will never be a subordinating country to the United States or to any other country and no power in the world can undermine Syria, the great state which has forced the world to listen to Damascus, underscores Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi.

“Syria has friends, allies and partners, but never accepts to have a master,” the minister said stressing the Syrian sovereignty.

Al-Zou’bi , who was speaking at the opening ceremony of a workshop on “National Media and Current Challenges”, said that Syria is a great state thanks to its people, leadership and army.

“Syria has been facing one of the most dangerous battles for more than two years and a half. Now, the entire world with all its media outlets is willy-nilly listening to Damascus because it [the world] has realized the steadfastness of the Syrian armed forces, media and state institutions,” the minister said.

Elements of greatness

He added that Syria’s current steadfastness is based on the great history of the Syrian people over the past decades, precisely since the evacuation of the French Colonialists from Syria, referring to the national awareness and sacrifices of the Syrian people.

“The Syrian army, which is still fighting terrorism relentlessly plus the country’s ability to keep providing all basic needs and services to citizens, , prove the greatness of the Syrian state,” the minister said, pointing out Syria’s infrastructure, scientists, army and security forces and institutions have been targeted from the very beginning of the aggression.

The three-day workshop kicked off on Tuesday in the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus Under the patronage of the Prime Minister. Journalists, analysts and politicians from Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria are taking part in the event.

The workshop is to focus on the points of weakness in the Syrian media in order to develop its performance in the face of challenges.
