No incident recorded with any Syrian returning Syria

Beirut, (ST) – The General Directorate of Lebanese General Security affirmed that, no incident was recorded with any Syrian citizen who returned to his country under the auspices of General Security and under the supervision of the United Nations agencies operating in Lebanon.

The directorate said in a statement on Sunday that, “all return trips for Syrian citizens that the directorate has organized during the past years have been flawless.”It reiterated that, it is responsible only for stamping travel documents on the crossing borders that are in the possession of travelers. It stressed that, the task of its soldiers is not to inspect vehicles or people.

The directorate pointed out that, these tasks fall within the powers of the competent authorities at the crossings.

Earlier, the Syrian Embassy in Beirut denied baseless allegations circulated by some social media sites about the disappearance of what they called “Syrian activists” who, as claimed by these sites, had entered the embassy and didn’t leave it.
