Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada Colendres described the bombing of the “Nord Stream” gas pipelines as “state terrorism” carried out by the United States, NATO and their allies.
“This is a clear example of a terrorist act carried out by countries hostile to Russia,” Sputnik Agency quoted Moncada as saying.
He added that the Nicaraguan government strongly opposes these attempts by the West to practice state terrorism.
In response to a question about whether he believes in the assumptions that try to deflect suspicions about the involvement of the United States, Moncada said: “It is very clear who are the countries that do these things, they are NATO and the United States and their allies, they did this against countries that are trying to defend their security and sovereignty.”
On September 26, 2022, explosions took place on two pipelines exporting Russian gas to Europe, namely “Nord Stream 1” and “Nord Stream 2”.
Germany, Denmark and Sweden did not rule out the occurrence of deliberate acts of sabotage.
For his part, American journalist Seymour Hersh published an investigation on the 8th of last February, in which he mentioned, quoting sources, that explosive devices were planted under Russian gas pipelines in June 2022, under the cover of exercises conducted by US Navy divers with the support of Norwegian specialists.
According to Hersh, the decision to launch the operation was taken by US President Joe Biden, after nine months of discussions with administration officials concerned with national security issues.
