Nicaragua condemns Israeli aggression on Syrian city of Palmyra

Nicaragua has condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted the Syrian city of Palmyra on Wednesday, November 20, 2020, stressing that it constitutes a flagrant violation of the integrity and sovereignty of Syrian territory.
The Nicaraguan government described, in a statement quoted by news agencies, the Israeli aggression as a “cowardly and condemnable” act.
The Nicaraguan government expressed in its statement Nicaragua’s steadfast solidarity with Syria and its people, as well as with the families of the martyrs and victims of this terrorist act.
It said: “The ongoing attacks by “Israel” in the Middle East region show more clearly its disregard for international law, international humanitarian law, and the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, which causes more instability in the region and the world.”
The Nicaraguan government concluded its statement by saying: “As always, our condemnation of these attacks and our voice is firm, loud, consistent, and in harmony with peace, justice, and hope.”
The Israeli enemy on Wednesday launched an air attack targeting residential buildings in the city of Palmyra (Tadmur) in the eastern countryside of Homs, which led to the martyrdom of 36 people and the wounding of dozens, in addition to significant material damage.
