Next Sunday Jordan Hosts A Meeting of Syria’s Neighbouring Countries to Discuss Common Issues and Challenges
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will host a meeting of countries neighboring Syria in Amman on Sunday to discuss cooperation in combating terrorism, drug and arms trafficking and addressing other common challenges.
The Jordanian News Agency Petra quoted the Ministry’s official spokesman Ambassador Dr. Sufian al-Qadat as saying in a statement: “The Meeting will also examine ways to support the Syrian people in their efforts to rebuild their homeland on the basis of their unity, sovereignty, security and stability, to eliminate terrorism, to ensure conditions for the voluntary return of refugees and to safeguard the rights of all their sons.”
The Ambassador explained that the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense, chiefs of staff and directors of the intelligence services of Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey will participate in the meeting.
