ASTANA, (ST)-The Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov has announced that the International meeting in Astana on the crisis in Syria will be held on November 28-29.

In a press conference on Monday, Abdrakhmanov told reporters that the guarantors of the ‘Astana Process’, Russia, Turkey and Iran, agreed to hold the next 11th international high-level meeting on Syria in the framework of the ‘Astana process’ on November 28-29 in the capital of Kazakhstan.

He said the meeting was planned in the traditional format with the participation of delegations of the guarantor countries, the government of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Syrian “armed opposition” and observers who are invited to this meeting – the UN and Jordan.

Nine rounds of talks have been held in Astana to resolve the crisis in Syria. The main result of the meetings in the capital of Kazakhstan was the creation of de-escalation zones. The last meeting in the Astana format at a high level was held in Sochi on July 30-31. All the round of talks affirmed commitment to preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to pressing ahead with fighting terrorism.
