Newborn Orchestra in Lattakia

Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Lattakia has recently hosted the first show of the

“Dramana” concert, which was performed by Orchestra “Orchidia “in cooperation with Mahmoud El Ajan Institute for Music.

Culture Director, Mr. Majd Sarem, who attended the concert, praised the efforts made to ensure the success of the work stressing the importance of having such an orchestra in Lattakia.

The program included playing the graphic music of the most important Arab drama series  under the supervision of Mr. Mohamed Farhat, who thanked the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Musical and Ballet Institutes for supporting the orchestra. He said that one of the most important objectives of the orchestra is to improve the music  level in Lattakia and to change the traditional methods recognized in all the concerts held in Lattakia.

 

In her turn, Miss. Shaza Mohammed, the administrative director and the main singer in the orchestra, stressed the important of the work, its quality and the great efforts of the participants since most of the musicians are teachers of Mahmoud El-Ajan Institute.

It is noteworthy that Orchidia, which is the only orchestra in the province of Lattakia will perform several concerts outside Lattakia in Summer.
