New US-Led Coalition’s Aggression on Deir Ezzor Countryside Claims Lives of 40 Civilians

DEIR EZZOR, (ST)- The US-led Coalition purportedly against Daesh terror organization has escalated its aggression on the Syrian territories through bombarding more villages and towns in Deir Ezzor countryside, claiming the lives of tens of civilians, most of them are women and children.

Local sources told SANA that the illegal coalition Saturday morning committed a new massacre in al-Baq’an village, affiliated to Hajin town, 110 km to the southeast of Deir Ezzor city. The sources added that the coalition warplanes started bombardment on Hajin town and other affiliated villages and towns Friday evening and the airstrikes destroyed tens of houses, displaced hundreds of families and killed 40 civilians, most of them women and children, in al-Baq’an village which has become almost empty after the population fled fearing the bombardment.

Later today, according to the sources, a number of civilians were martyred and wounded in the coalition’s airstrikes against al-Sha’fa town. They warned that the death toll may increased as many civilians are still trapped under the rubbles and it is difficult to be reached because of the intensive shelling of the coalition’s warplanes.

The new massacre is the latest of other ones committed by the illegal international coalition over the past week in Deir Ezzor’s Hajin, al-Sha’fa, al-Boubadran and al-Soussa villages and towns in which more than 100 civilians were martyred.

The coalition used in its attacks on these Syrian areas internationally-banned  white phosphorus and cluster bombs, yet the Security Council and the United Nations have issued no comment or condemnation.

Syria has repeatedly called on the international community to act immediately as to put an end to the US-led coalition’s massacres against the Syrians and to help establish an independent neutral  international mechanism for investigation into the coalition’s crimes.
