Damascus (ST) – The Syrian national team added 20 different medals to its tally, 4 gold ones, 8 silver, and 8 bronze, on the third day of the International Homeland Wounded Games, which is being held by the “Jareeh Watan” (Homeland Wounded) Project, in cooperation with the General Sports Federation, at Tishreen and Al-Fayhaa Sports Cities in Damascus.
In the physical strength competition; in the 80 kg weight category, Shadi Issa won the golden medal, Ziad Andron won the silver medal and Shadi Al-Halabi won the bronze one, and in the 88 kg weight category, the champions of the Syrian team Manhal Zarouf and Shadi Suleiman won the golden and bronze medals consequently.
In the swimming competitions: in the 50-meter breaststroke S8 race; Muhammad Jifan won the golden medal and Ammar Al-Basha won the bronze one, Amer Qudsi won the silver medal and Mahmoud Hajo won a bronze one, in the 50-meter breaststroke S9; Amer Qudsi won the silver medal and Mahmoud Hajo won the bronze one in the 50-meter backstroke S9; Omar Abdullah won the silver medal and Mazen Sultan won the bronze one, Walid Al-Khas won the silver medal in the 50-meter backstroke S10, and Ali Musa won a bronze medal in the 50 meter butterfly S10.
In the Javelin throw in the athletics competitions: Wassim Khadour won the gold medal, Abdul Rahman Hamroush and Bassam Sosak won the silver, and Najm Hassoun won the bronze one.
In shot put athletics: Azzam Al-Ahmad and Khalil Mahmoud each won a silver medal while Abdul Rahman Hamroush won a bronze medal.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian team won 15 various medals on the first day, including 3 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze.
