The lockdown issued by the National Disaster Management Operations Room in Lebanon, has come into effect as of today until next Tuesday. With the aim of confronting developments relating to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that citizens showed complete commitment to this decision, as the streets in some areas appeared almost empty of cars and people. While vegetables and fruits markets, pharmacies, clinics and shops that sell foodstuffs, fish, poultry and meat, as well as bakeries and fuel stations remained opened.
The General Directorate of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces announced that in order to maintain public safety and reduce the risk of Coronavirus transmission, the security forces will strictly implement the content of the lockdown decision, calling on citizens not to violate it.
