Moscow, (ST) – Deputy Head of the Government of Crimea Georgy Muradov announced that the Crimea and Donbass have been connected by a land corridor as part of the special operation in Ukraine.
“Crimea and Donbass are now connected by a land corridor through the territory of Ukraine, and the highway from Crimea to Mariupol has also been seized,” said Muradov, who is also the permanent representative of Crimea to the Russian president, according to RIA Novosti.
He noted that this highway may become an aid for the supply of humanitarian goods to the residents of the liberated areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic in light of the continuing battles with Ukrainian nationalists.
He considered that it is necessary to think now of cooperation in the field of transporting shipments through the ports of Crimea and the main ports of the Sea of Azov, especially Mariupol and Berdyansk, because “this is the key to the future development of the entire region.”
