The activities of the 5th Honey Festival at Tishreen Sports City in Damascus will continue till the 9th of march, with the participation of about 50 beekeepers.
The festival showcases various kinds of honey and food products, medical and cosmetic products that contain honey in addition to new products including shampoos and creams with natural oils and others.
Jalal Qaso from the local “Qaso Honey Company” told Syriatimes that his company participates in this event for the fifth time.
“We display many kinds of honey that our company is famous for, such as wild thistle honey, special honey for diabetics, black seed honey, wild flower honey, mountain honey, citrus honey, and others. At this festival, we display new kind of honey products including nut butter with honey and almond butter”, Qaso said.
“ We also produce honey for the nerves and as a boost to the body’s immunity and strength and mixtures with royal jelly and palm pollen for the nerves and procreation, in addition to propels oil and pollen” Qaso added.
“Our aim from participating in this event is to enhance the consumer’s culture about the benefit of honey, so that people can know about original honey, and about our products and the types of honey we produce that number 15”, Jalal concluded.
For his part Ahmad Barood, the general manager of “Baroon Honey Company” said: “We specialize in diverse kinds of honey and we are famous for our propolis honey with mint”.
“We have also energy honey for athletes, for weakness, honey with royal jelly and pollen for weak fertility, shampoo from natural materials and honey-based creams”, he said.
Last year, we took the shield for the best packaging at the festival. Our participation in the festival aims at getting people acquainted with our products and at inviting them to return to nature and at introducing them to our natural products that treat many diseases,” Ahmad Barood said.
Tariq from “Wadi Al-Yarmouk Honey Company”, said “this is our first participation in the Syrian Honey Festival. We have honey from pollen, and honey with nuts.
Omar Melli participates in this activity for the fourth time. He said “We participated in this festival to gain the trust of the consumer and to make direct communication with him and introduce him to our products”.
“We always participate in the festival to get people to know the benefits of honey and its types, and we introduce people to the life of bees, In this festival, we display five types of honey. We have honey with ginger and pollen” he added, noting that the festival is an opportunity to introduce people to our products directly.
