New Government will Strengthen the Relations with Friendly Countries, Says Al-Halaqi

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The new government will continue working to strengthen and develop cooperation relations with friendly countries; particularly Iran, stressed Prime Minister Dr. Wael Al-Halqi.

During his meeting on Thursday with Iranian ambassador to Syria Mohammad Riza Shibani, Al-Halaqi underlined the importance of upgrading the Syrian-Iranian relations in addition of opening new prospects to develop bilateral cooperation for the interest of two countries.

Al-Halaqi pointed out to the government’s plans and programs to activate all sectors including industrial, commercial, medical and tourism and finding suitable basis to start reconstruction phase with the assistance of our friends in Iran.

Prime Minister called for activating the agreements signed before and sign new agreements which help in confronting the war and the unjust economic siege imposed on Syria.

For his part, Shibani congratulated Al-Halaqi on the occasion on forming the new government.

He reiterated the support of his country for the Syrian leadership and people, expressing his confidence that Syrian people will overcome the crisis and will soon achieve victory in the ongoing foreign-backed crisis in the country.

Talks during meeting focused on cooperation prospects in economic, commercial industrial and medical fields, providing requirement for electric generating stations in addition of establishing joint development projects.
