DAMASCUS, (ST)_ Syrian-Indian relations in political, economic and technical fields besides new deals for facilitating India’s participation in the reconstruction process in Syria were discussed during the virtual meeting held on Thursday within the framework of the joint Syrian-Indian committee.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal al-Miqdad and Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Vellamvelly Muraleedharan.
Al-Miqdad talked during the meeting about bilateral relations between Syria and India and India’s support for Syria during the ongoing terror war on it.
On his part, the Indian minister affirmed his country’s support for Syria in political, economic and health fields.
Speaking to journalists, al-Miqdad described the talks with the Indian side as “excellent” as the two sides agreed on the continuity of political coordination and completing the projects that Indian companies started to set up in Syria.
He referred to the fact that some signed agreements between Syria and India have stopped due to the terror war and coercive measures being imposed on Syria.
Al-Miqdad asserted that coordination between Syria and India will continue at international level.
