Almost a year after the eruption of the crisis in Syria, the US, its Western allies and regional and Arab tools started to fabricate groundless accusation on the use of chemical weapons whenever the Syrian Arab army achieves progress in eliminating Takfiri terrorism. The forces supporting terrorism in Syria have consistently used chemical weapons as a pretext to block the progress of the Syrian Army as they use it as a political pressure against the Syrian state.
Before holding a new session of the Security Council, the terrorism-backing media fabricated a new chapter of lies on the use of phosphor and napalm along with the lie of using chemical weapons which is exploited by the terrorist organizations and their Western backers against the Syrian Arab Army.
Whenever the Syrian Arab Army tightens the noose around the terrorist organizations in Eastern Ghouta, the terrorists’ supporters order them to use false accusations against the Syrian army. The continued victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army against terrorists in Ghouta have pushed the conspiring countries to repeat the false accusations against Syria and fabricate a new chapter of the chemical farce.
Securing the exit for scores of civilians from Ghouta by the army and the demonstrations which some towns in Ghouta have witnessed against terrorists and in support of the Syrian Arab Army prove the falsity of the claims by the terrorist organizations and their supporters. Well-known parties are leveling accusations against Syria regarding the use of chemical weapons as a result of the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab army in the fight against terrorism. The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) continues to ignore the information provided by Syria on the use of chemical weapons by terrorists in several incidents, which is cause for suspicion and wonder.
The goal of the propaganda campaign currently being waged against Syria by the US and its allies is not only to provide support for the terrorists, who are using chemical weapons, but also to encourage them to use it again. Since the beginning of this year, four incidents of chemical weapons use by terrorists have been uncovered in Suruj in Idlib countryside and Msheirfeh. There is a lot of evidence of the use of weapons containing mustard gas by terrorists on September 16, 2016 in Umm Hosh, as well as their use of sarin gas in 2013 in Khan al-Asal and Eastern Ghouta. OPCW experts ignored evidence proving that the armed groups have acquired large stockpiles of toxic chemicals and the technology needed to produce them through some neighboring countries. Large quantities of these weapons were discovered in November and December 2017 in areas liberated from terrorists. The army found in warehouses used by terrorists near al-Dhahiriya and al-Khafsah in Hama city containers containing 20 tons of chemicals and more than 50 rounds of ammunition rigged with chemicals. About 24 tons of toxic chemicals were found in Tal Adleh, along with a warehouse in Muadhamiya containing 240mm and 160mm ammunition and plastic cans containing organic phosphorus, and a plant in the suburbs of Sweitra in the countryside of Hama that was used to manufacture various toxic substances, in addition to 54 pieces of chemical ammunition and 44 barrels containing chemical substances.
The conclusions of the international commissions of inquiry, including a fact-finding commission of the OPCW, which blame the Syrian government for the use of sarin in Khan Sheikun, is lacking objectivity and credibility. The inspectors of the joint investigative mechanism refused to visit the alleged site and used “remote inspection,” and yet these investigations were used to justify the US attack on Shayrat airbase. The OPCW experts had visited the airport six months after the date of the attack, but the team of experts arrived without bringing the necessary equipment for the investigation and did not take any samples at the airbase. The same happened during the investigation of using sarin gas in al-Latamneh and the using of chlorine Eastern Ghouta. Despite the agreements reached with some of the armed groups to allow OPCW experts to enter areas controlled by terrorists, the experts did not visit these areas to collect evidence and samples.
There was information indicating that terrorist groups in Eastern Ghouta are planning to fabricate chemical shelling and accuse the Syrian Arab Army of using chemical weapons. The false allegations made by the US and its allies about the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian Arab Army in Ghouta aims at protecting terrorist organizations.
The Syrian government has sent more than 140 letters to the UN Security Council and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) which contained documented information about the possession of chemical materials by the countries that support terrorists, but they deliberately ignored this information.
The contribution of the Turkish regime in supporting terrorism is clear where it facilitated the entry of tens of thousands of terrorists via its border to Syria, armed, financed and set up training camps on its territory for terrorists and facilitated the possession of toxic chemicals.
The scenario of the use of chemical weapons appears again in Ghouta by the terrorist organizations in coincidence with Washington and Paris feverish attempts at the United Nations Security Council to target Syria.
In light of the accelerated collapses in the ranks of terrorists due to the victories of the Syrian Arab Army and raising the national flag by citizens in Ghouta to announce their support to the Syrian state and army, the fabrications and accusations appeared again to defame Syrian army and demand the western interference. Terrorists who fabricate such accusations do not belong to the citizens of Ghouta and they aim at trading with the blood of the Syrian citizens of children and women through this uncovered scenario.
The adoption of the international organizations and some western countries and their media outlets to those fabrications encourage terrorists to continue using the civilians as hostages and human shields. The western media intimidation has always revolved around undermining Syria’s victories and efforts to fight terrorism. The accusations raised by the French Representative to the UN concerning Syria’s non-commitment to UN Security Council resolution No. 2401 seem to be detached from reality; in the sense that the majority of civilians in Ghouta are held as hostages by terrorists there.
Western claims about use of chemical weapons and severe humanitarian situation reflect a state of confusion due to the achievements made by the Syrian Arab army. We didn’t hear western condemnation neither of the continued bombardment on Damascus city, nor the killing of innocent civilians by the Turkish regime forces in Afrin or the besieged Kefarya and al-Fou’a towns in the countryside of Idleb.
The Human Rights Organization as well as other UN organizations have lost their credibility as they have never relied on reasonable facts or trusted information. The new lie, misleading propaganda campaign, which was triggered by states that support terrorists, regarding new claims about the use of Chlorine gas by the Syrian state in Eastern Ghouta, comes in the framework of a plot that aims to hinder the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions related to preserving Syria sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Syria has lately seized, after liberating a number of regions in Hama countryside from terrorism, more than 40 tons of chlorine gas in the presence of the Chemical Weapons convention’s inspectors.
The Syrian Arab Republic, which has repeatedly affirmed its non-possession of any form of chemical weapons, and its non-use of chlorine gas as a weapon, reiterates that it is the first meant side in defending its citizens and in preventing the use of poisonous materials on its territory.
Any conclusions with regard to the allegations on the use of chemical weapons in Syria should not be drawn except after conducting an unbiased and impartial international investigation. As there is no such investigation any accusations are nothing but mudslinging.
Chemical weapons in Syria have been eliminated, and this was also verified by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapon. This groundless continued provocations and accusations which lack evidence against Syria are nothing but defamation.
The terrorist organizations in the Eastern Ghouta, including Jabhat al-Nusra, Faylaq al-Rahman and Ahrar al-Sham, are fabricating a spectacle on the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian Arab army. The leaders of those organizations received instructions from the US, Britain and other western states to use toxic chemicals near the front lines with the Syrian army and target civilians and accuse the Syrian State and army of this act.
Such groundless accusations will not dissuade the Syrian Arab army from pressing ahead with its noble task to uproot takfiri terrorism from all the Syrian Arab territories.
