Nebenzya warns of a new Israeli aggression against Gaza

New York (ST) – The Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, warned of a new Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip, calling on the UN Security Council to take decisive measures to prevent this.

RT channel website quoted Nebenzya as saying during a session of the UN Security Council that: “Israel took advantage of the division in the Security Council with the support of Washington to continue the war of ethnic cleansing in Gaza”.

“The members of the Security Council said nothing about the destruction of buildings and the killing of thousands of children in Gaza”, he added.

Nebenzya indicated that the crisis in the Middle East is unprecedented, calling on the UN Secretary General António Guterres to expand the peacemaking mission to monitor the temporary truce in the besieged Gaza Strip or to propose an alternative to it.

He stressed that his country is working on a “long-term solution” to the Palestinian issue.
