Nebenzya: Russia might think of withdrawing from the OPCW if it continues to issue politicized decisions

Moscow (ST): Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that his country was thinking of withdrawing from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons  (OPCW) if it continued to issue decisions against certain undesired states by the West, referring to the fabricated allegations issued by the OPCW against Syria.

Sputnik news agency quoted Nebenzya as saying:  “If the Organization loses its  credibility and becomes only a place for issuing decisions against undesired regimes, we might think of such a step.”

He added that at the same time Russia considers the OPCW  important but there should be a separation between the Organization and its General Technical Secretariat.

He went on to say that as an example of the OPCW’s bias and  politicizing by the West, Nebenzya referred to fabricated accusations directed to the Syrian government alleging the use of chemical weapons without the existence of  any evidence.
