Nebenzia: US extortion prevented investigation of war crimes committed in Afghanistan

Washington (ST); Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, confirmed that the blackmailing of the United States prevented the investigation of the war crimes it committed in Afghanistan.

The website of Russia Today channel quoted Nebenzia as saying in a statement that “despite the various reports of independent non-governmental organizations about heinous war crimes that aim to achieve justice, and bring those responsible to justice, investigations were never conducted because of the extortions that Washington provided,” noting that the West wants everyone to forget the actions of the United States and NATO, which regularly carry out indiscriminate air strikes on ordinary Afghans.

Nebenzia pointed out that “such sarcasm is typical of the position of the United States and its allies, including other crisis points such as Iraq, Syria and Libya.”

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Siromolotov had said earlier that the United States and its partners are trying to destabilize the situation in the territories bordering Afghanistan, noting that there is now evidence of the well-known concept of “controlled chaos at work.”
