Nebenzia: The United States Condones Israeli Crimes and Blocks a Ceasefire Resolution

Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzia stressed that the United States condones the crimes of the Israeli entity and at the same time continues to block any attempts to pass a Security Council resolution on a ceasefire in Gaza.

“Our American counterparts have stopped their interaction and activities in the UN Security Council, and at the same time they continue to block any attempts by council members to pass a resolution that would make it possible to achieve a ceasefire in the region,” Nebenzia was quoted by TASS as saying during a session of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East.

Nebenzia stressed that a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is the main thing that the Security Council should strive for, and this will certainly be followed by a calming of the situation in Lebanon and the Middle East as a whole.”

Nebenzia stressed that the Israeli entity and the United States are escalating the situation in the Middle East region… While Russia and many other countries are sending humanitarian aid, however it is clear that this is not enough in a situation where “Israel” and the United States are pouring fuel on the flames of the most destructive escalation in the Middle East and blatantly violating international laws and covenants.

Nebenzia strongly criticized the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, saying: “the boldness of these attacks is shocking, some of them target densely populated areas in Beirut and other Lebanese cities “. It seems that “Israel ” not only deliberately tramples on the principles of international law, but also views civilian casualties as collateral damage,” he said.

Nebenzia pointed out that the Israeli bombing that targeted the United Nations Interim Peace Force In Lebanon “UNIFIL” is a  crime that deserves a decisive reaction, expressing Moscow’s full support for the World Organization’s forces and the need to preserve the safety of its personnel.
