Nebenzia: Terrorist groups deployed in Daraa Al-Balad violate the truce agreements and hold civilians as human shields

Moscow (ST): Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, confirmed that the terrorist groups deployed in the Daraa Al-Balad region have violated the truce agreements that had been agreed upon and are holding civilians as human shields.

During a session of the UN Security Council in New York,  Nebenzia indicated that the militants are spreading inside the Daraa al-Balad area and using civilians as human shields, and that there are problems in humanitarian aid access to it, stressing the importance of providing an objective assessment of the situation in various Syrian regions, including the situation in the Daraa al-Balad area.

Nebenzia also criticized the US continued theft of Syrian oil from the areas it occupies in northeastern Syria, pointing out that Syria is going through difficult economic conditions that are exacerbated by the unilateral coercive measures imposed on it and the continuous American theft of Syrian oil.

The Russian diplomat also called on the United States not to search for justifications  that do not exist and cannot exist, and instead to focus on the implementation of Resolution 2254 issued by the UN Security Council, which affirms the principle of respecting Syria’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, referring in this context to embarrassing attempts by American soldiers to justify their country’s occupation of areas in northeastern and southeastern Syria before public opinion.
