Naumkin: The presence of occupation forces on Syrian territory obstructs the return of stability to the country

Moscow (ST): Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaly Naumkin condemned the continued presence of foreign occupation forces on Syrian territory.
Naumkin pointed out in an interview with SANA news correspondent in Moscow that the American, Turkish and Israeli occupation of parts of Syrian territory “obstructs the return of stability to it permanently,” stressing that Russia continues to support the independence and sovereignty of the Syrian state.
In addition, Naumkin pointed out that Russia, which calls for peace and working as quickly as possible to stop the use of force, takes into account the interests of the Palestinians and views with great concern what is happening due to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and the American support for it.
He pointed out that the United States “acts in the same way in all cases, sending large quantities of weapons to its allies, including Israel, and this ultimately leads to the escalation of violence.”
