Nationwide Celebrations on Independence Day

PROVINCES, (ST)- The Syrians across the country marked the 68th anniversary of Syria’s Independence Day through organizing mass rallies glorifying the occasion.

In the capital, Damascus, hundreds of youths gathered at martyr “Youysef al-Adhmeh” Square to express their commitment to protect the country’s independence and voice their support for the Syrian army’s battle against terrorism.

 

People of Esal al-Ward town in Qalamoun of Damascus Countryside took to the streets of the town to commemorate Independence Day and express their appreciation of the Syrian army’s great efforts in fighting terrorism and in restoring security and stability to Qalamoun areas.

The Syrian provinces of Hassaka, Hama, Homs, Deir ezzur, Tartous and others also witnessed popular, official and youth activities hailing the occasion and stressing the Syrians’ commitment to national principles.

Participants in these activities voiced solidarity with the Syrian army and leadership in the face of the conspiracy hatched against Syria. They affirmed that the Syrian people are unified as to maintain the homeland’s sovereignty and dignity and are ready to sacrifice to defeat terrorism forces and restore stability to the country.

The participants lifted the Syrian flag and the placards which affirm the Syrian people’s confidence in the Syrian Army’s victory over terrorism.
