Damascus –Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, an art exhibition titled “We’re All Syria” was opened in Damascus on Saturday. Topics depicted environment, nature, women and human condition in general.
Some 150 paintings belonging to different artistic schools were displayed in the three-day exhibition which was organized by the National Youth Party for Justice and Development in cooperation with the Culture Ministry. Plastic artists in addition to teachers and student of the faculty of Fine Arts took part in the event.
Culture Minister Lubana Mushaweh wrote a note on the exhibition’s brochure, stressing that nothing can stop the creativity of inventors to appear even during crises and that artists can’t be negative towards life.

In a statement to SANA, Deputy Culture Minister Nidal al-Saleh, who opened the exhibition, said that the diversity of the exhibits reflects the richness of political life in Syria. He stressed the need to build bridges between the official cultural institutions and artists to encourage artistic creativity and diversity.

For her part, Secretary-General of the National Youth Party for Justice and Development Berwin Ibrahim said that the event is the start of a cultural initiative that will be followed by many others in future.
“Through organizing this event, the party aimed to help the plastic artists restore normal life to Syria and to contribute to saving the Syrian youths from a painful reality”, Ibrahim said.
Participating artists underlined the role of such exhibitions in promoting art in Syria and developing the artistic and cultural movement in the Syrian society.
