National Vaccination Days Launched Next Sunday to Follow up on Dropout Children

The Ministry of Health will launch next Sundaythe National Vaccination Days campaign to follow up on children who have dropped out of vaccination, from the age of one day up to 5 years. The campaign will continue until the 24th of November 2022.

According to the Director of Primary Health Care at the Ministry, Dr. Razan Tarabishi, the campaign is being implemented in 1,026 health centers, and through 579 mobile teams covering various regions, with the participation of 8,842 health workers.

Al-Tarabishi pointed out that the aim of the campaign is to ensure that children complete all vaccinations included in the national vaccination program, follow up on children who have dropped out of it, give them the vaccines they are due for, and provide them with a new vaccination card in case it is not available. She indicated that the campaign aims to assess the vaccination status of about 2,700,000 children in various governorates, as data indicates that there are about 268,375 children who have not completed their vaccinations, stressing that the Ministry has taken all necessary measures to provide the requirements for the success of the campaign and to reach the targeted children by distributing vaccines to all governorates and regions. She emphasized the application of all preventive measures in light of the Corona pandemic.

Al-Tarabishi explained that the vaccine is available, safe, free, effective, and recommended by the World Health Organization. Common symptoms such as runny nose, diarrhea, or simple fever do not prevent vaccination, calling on parents to take their children to health centers or mobile teams to assess their vaccination status and give them the vaccines they deserve. She stressed that the vaccines included in the national vaccination program enhance the immunity of children and protect them from dangerous childhood diseases, namely polio, tuberculosis, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, hepatitis C, and diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae (meningitis, pneumonia, septicemia, otitis media..etc..).
