National Initiative for Syrian Kurds calls for broad participation in the upcoming presidential elections

The National Initiative for the Syrian Kurds called on all Syrian people to broadly participate in the upcoming presidential elections on the twenty-sixth of May.

In a statement after its leadership committee meeting, the initiative underlined the importance of participating in the elections despite the challenges, obstacles, and the difficult economic, living and humanitarian conditions for all Syrians after ten years of the unjust war imposed on Syria. It highlighted the importance of participation in serving the national interest of the Syrian people, including the Syrian Kurds.

The initiative indicated that holding these elections on their constitutional date is considered a national milestone and a qualitative leap from the stage of war and destruction to a stage that paves the way for political solution, national reconciliation, reconstructing Syria, and consolidating security and stability throughout the Syrian geography.
